Specific Attractions:

Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Visitors Center: The geologic wonder that is the Red Rocks Amphitheatre cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The open-air amphitheatre, located 15 miles west of Denver in the foothills, is made up of two three-hundred-foot rock pillars. Come to the Visitor Center for exhibits on the geology and musicians who have played at Red Rocks, as well as a restaurant.

Hot Springs—After soaking in information from the IABC conference, do some soaking of a different kind—soak your cares away in one of Colorado’s many hot springs. The Idaho Hot Springs is only 32 miles from Denver and offers affordable hot springs packages.

Georgetown Loop Railroad—Ever thought to take a scenic train in the mountains? Now’s your chance! Before or after the IABC conference, take a side trip to Georgetown (45 miles away) for a ride on one of Colorado’s famous historic railroad through the Rocky Mountains.

Rafting: Get some energy out with a rafting trip down a mountain stream.

Rocky Mountain National Park has everything from scenic drives, hiking trails, excellent fishing, rock climbing, camping, and plenty of wildlife. At almost two hours away from Denver, this is a great overnight trip to see the real Colorado wilderness.

Lively college town, Boulder, has a bohemian feel to it and can be an easy day trip for conference participants.

Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs impresses with its dramatic red rock formations along its accessible trails.

Take a day hike through Castlewood Canyon State Park with its deep canyon walls along the Cherry Creek.

Another good hike can be found at Roxborough State Park, filled with red rock formations and various wildlife and plants.

Take the Pikes Peak Highway to the summit of the mountain at 14,110 feet above sea level. Allow at least 2 hours for the 38-mile ride up. Afterwards, enjoy some time in Colorado Springs.
