It's a Digital World
In 2007 Hallmark’s launched Journeys, a card line developed to address life’s more sensitive issues such as divorce, weight loss, cancer and others. Both Hallmark and Fleishman-Hillard recognized the strong influence of digital media, including blogs, message boards, and other online communities that served as hubs for conversations around topics addressed in the card line and seized the opportunity to raise awareness of Journeys and Hallmark within these areas. We asked these communities to experience the brand in-person by inviting them to the first ever Hallmark Blogger Conference, held at Hallmark’s headquarters. In this session you’ll hear how this Gold Quill Award of Excellence winning campaign came to be, key learning and insight from the bloggers themselves and how this initiative has influenced every public relations campaign since.
Deidre Parkes, National Campaign Manager, Hallmark Cards, Inc. Ms. Parkes has spent 11 years at Hallmark in various communication roles. She currently works as a National Campaign Manager working to strategically develop and oversee national public relations campaigns in conjunction with the company’s overall integrated marketing communications. She has won multiple awards for her work on a variety of campaigns including a Best of Show from the Greater Kansas City PRSA and a Gold Quill Award of Excellence from IABC.
Kim West, Senior Vice President, Fleishman Hillard. Ms. West offers clients more than 20 years of integrated marketing experience, and is known for being highly customer focused and results oriented. She joined the Fleishman-Hillard Kansas City team as a senior vice president providing clients with strategic counsel, strategic planning, and integrated communications expertise. Prior to joining Fleishman-Hillard, Ms West served as director of integrated marketing for Unity, an international not-for-profit organization headquartered in Kansas City. Ms. West also served in a leadership capacity for nearly 10 years at Sprint Corporation where she managed several strategic partnership programs and was recognized for her ability to significantly grow revenues and for her valuable insight into the customer experience. She also has worked for EnergyOne, LLC and Birch Telecom. Ms. West continues to hold a passion for understanding and supporting the customer experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ottawa University.
